Chevy Tire Pressure

Row of tires

You just bought a quality used or new Chevy vehicle from Allen Samuels Chevrolet in Hearne. Congratulations! One of the regular maintenance checks you should perform is looking at the tires at least once a week, usually when you head to the gas station.

Why check your Chevy tire pressure? It’s one of the easiest ways to save money on gas but keep you and your family safe on the road. The right tire pressure is vital to maintaining the tire’s contact with the road for the best results in any weather or road conditions. Most Chevy tire pressure recommendations are around 35 pounds per square inch (PSI). However, when it comes to your exact vehicle’s tire pressure, you’ll have to check the owner’s manual based on your trim levels, model year, and tire size.

In the meantime, look over our Chevy tire pressure guide for the Equinox, Cruze, Malibu, and Bolt EV before you zip along Bryan and College Station streets.

Chevy Equinox Tire Pressure

Depending on your model year, the Chevy Equinox tire pressure ranges from 30 to 35 PSI. But some trims on modern vehicles can go up to 38 PSI. This depends on the vehicle’s weight, and you might need higher air pressure to keep your family-friendly SUV handling great on weekly errands, weekend getaway trips, and summer vacays!

Chevy Cruze Tire Pressure

The Chevy Cruze offers a great sedan with fabulous gas mileage. Most times, for model years built from 2011 to 2022, the Chevy Cruze tire pressure ranges from 30 to 35 PSI. Even sedans need the correct tire pressure. The Cruze might have the same PSI as the Equinox because the Equinox is a smaller SUV.

Chevy Malibu Tire Pressure

A stalwart of the brand, the Chevy Malibu looks and handles great on Franklin roads and highways. Expect this tire to get around 35 PSI, but your results could swing from 26 to 39 PSI depending on the model year and trim. Why such a wide shift? The car’s weight has changed over the years. In 2002, the Chevy Malibu weighed 3,053 pounds. By 2013, it tipped the scales at 3,532 pounds. The 2023 model is 3,159 pounds.

Chevy Bolt Tire Pressure

If you drive a Chevy Bolt, use the myChevrolet Mobile App to check the Bolt’s tire pressure. And you can access the driver’s manual or driver information screen. The Chevy Bolt’s tire pressure is 38 PSI. Why is this Chevy tire pressure greater than the others on our list? EVs typically weigh more than their internal combustion counterparts because the battery packs are heavy. A Chevy Bolt EV weighs around 3,600 pounds. By comparison, the Equinox weighs between 3,274 to 3,512 pounds as an SUV!
